Studio Note 10/25
β
Hello Reader, I hope September was good to you.
It was a heavier month than most for me, with plenty of ups and downs. A very low energy kind of month. I still managed to do some things that energized me and helped me feel creative. Plus, it's officially October, aka "Candy Corn Season" aka "Spooky Season", which is arguably one of the best months of the year (next to my birthday month, of course). π¬π

Art Notes
I've been participating in Folktember for the last month over on Instagram. I haven't done any kind of social media based art challenge in a while, and wasn't planning on starting them again, but when I saw the prompt list, I just really wanted to give it a try. While these aren't my greatest works, they've been pretty low pressure so far, and I've enjoyed crafting Frida and "Nelson"'s story. To avoid loading up this email with a lot of graphics, I'll link each entry below for you to visit. You can also find them along with notes on my Patreon (they're free to view!).

Social Notes
I FINALLY finished the process video for "The Binding of Inuyasha" and you can watch it on my Youtube channel. I am just not a fast video editor, and I had some problems with my editing software at the end, hence the delays. It will probably be the last longish form process video I create for a while. I've fallen out of love of making them, and I find that recording myself painting is a big distraction that affects the quality of my work. You can expect some short videos but nothing big for a while. β
I have been asked by my audience on YT for a tour of my recently finished sketchbook so that will be my last video of the year. Hopefully Iβll have it done by the next newsletter .

Shop Notes
As a reminder, there are new prints and originals available in the shop! The holiday season is right around the corner, and artwork made by human hands make great gifts for friends and family! :)

Extra Notes
Looking down the pipeline towards the end of the year, I'll be focusing more on improving my craft. I've felt so dissatisfied with my approach to style, subject, even medium lately that I've got to take time to treat myself as if I'm a beginner all over again. Honestly, I think it's incredibly important for any creative to have a student mindset. I've been putting together an "art workout" plan full of things to study and mediums to try! So in the next few newsletters, expect to see a few practice pieces! I'll be holding off on finishing up any series I have in progress for a bit, and when I do work on them in between practice pieces, it'll be at a slower pace.
Also, TourBox sent me the TourBox Elite Plus to try out, and I've got thoughts about it that I'll share in a blog post soon!
